What is the Mayo Arts Festival?
The Mayo Arts Festival is a free, family friendly community event, celebrating the arts and offering something for everyone to enjoy. Explore vibrant displays of students' visual artworks, enjoy dramatic performances and be entertained by our musicians.
The festival is named in honour of 91ÇÑ×Ó Margaret’s Old Girl Daphne Mayo MBE (1908), who was a leading Australian female artist most prominently known for the sculptured tympanum above the entrance to Brisbane City Hall. Celebrating artistic endeavour in all its forms, the Mayo Arts Festival lends itself to a particular focus on three-dimensional art in alignment with Daphne Mayo's legacy.
